Perishable Goods

1. Shipment dimensions (length x width x height) and weight must not exceed aircraft limitations. Individual restrictions apply, according to the type of equipment used in flight. (See Fleet)
2. If your shipment considers the use of a “datalogger”, it must be one of the models permitted on Aeroméxico Cargo; otherwise, you will need to process an authorization prior to shipment check-in. For more information, please contact your local sales representative.
3. All shipments are subject to the provisions of the general cargo contract and the provisions of the current Civil Aviation Act. Shipper is responsible for ensuring that the shipment complies with such provisions.
4. Shipments containing Hazardous Goods, must comply with local regulations as issued by IATA and Aeroméxico Cargo’s Catalog of Acceptance Criteria for Cargo.
5. Certain regulations issued by local governments may apply. Please make sure your shipment comply with all local regulations.
6. Shipment of any kind of meat, fur, or parts of endangered animals or species is strictly prohibited.
7. Any visibly damaged goods will not be accepted.

1. Please consider a minimum of six hours prior to ETD if your shipment contains any kind of hazardous materials.
2. Your cargo is considered as accepted once the air waybill has been issued, provided there are no wrong statements or any goods considered not valid for transportation, and all inspections required by Aeromexico and the local government have been completed.
3. Your shipment will be available for pickup 2.5 hours after the actual landing time for the selected flight; except for force majeure events beyond Aeromexico Cargo's control that hinder from meeting this time, e.g., heavy storm at the station, road closures to vehicular traffic, etc.
4. Each item of your shipment must be clearly labeled, including name and address of shipper and recipient. A telephone number for shipper with 24-hour availability is required on the air waybill. All shipments must be clearly marked as “PERISHABLE”.
5. Recycled or repurposed cardboard boxes are not accepted, or printed boxes that do not correspond to the products contained in them (e.g., egg boxes not transporting eggs).

3. Dry ice, as a coolant, may be accepted; however, it is classified by IATA as Hazardous Goods and is subject to additional regulations.
4. Shipments must be packaged to ensure safe transportation with ordinary handling care.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

a. Leak-proof primary container. If several primary containers are handled, they must be individually wrapped to avoid contact with each other.
b. Leak-proof secondary container.

• · Plastic or Styrofoam cooler. No drainage.
  c. Buffer material.
  d. Absorbent material.
  e. Absorbent material between the primary and secondary container.

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

a. Cardboard, plastic, and/or wooden box ("huacales") according to the contents of the shipment.

• · Fruits and vegetables must be packaged in well ventilated containers, sufficiently resistant to withstand crushing.
• · Wax-coated carton provides properties that the carton itself cannot provide. Wax's resistance to moisture increases carton rigidity.
• · Ropes used to strap a cardboard box can crack the box and are therefore not recommended.

MEAT, FISH, AND SEAFOOD

a. Meat, seafood must be packaged in plastic bags.
b. Refrigerant must be placed in the lower and top part of packaging.

• · Refrigeration agent may be: Wet ice, dry ice, frozen gel, cold accumulators.
  c. The correct location of absorbent pads in a box is at the bottom, between the surface and the bottom refrigerant.
  d. Select expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) boxes or plastic coolers.

FLOWERS AND PLANTS

a. Corrugated cardboard box, plastic coated cardboard.
b. Optional: In the case of flowers that must be insulated from outside temperatures, use expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam).
c. Boxes must have inserts that can support and protect the flower heads, in order to avoid any damage during transportation.
d. Wax-coated or plastic-coated boxes help maintain the high humidity for flowers.

5. Shipper is responsible for using adequate packaging for product preservation.
